In 1868, he was appointed a Companion of the Order of the Bath for his services in the Sudan. His final military appointment came in 1882 when he was made a Major-General in the Army Reserve. 6. Personal Life: Despite his military commitments, Finch-Hatton found time to marry and start a family. He married Lady Elizabeth Keppel in 1846, and they had ten children together. His military career spanned over five decades, and he left behind a rich legacy as a dedicated and distinguished soldier.
