Amongst the Ascot prizes for 1845 is the Emperors Cup, a gift of the Emperor of Russia on his 1844 visit to Queen Victoria. It is a reduced copy, in silver, of the statue of Peter the Great by Falconetti in St Petersburgh. The silver one has been modelled and cast at the establishment of Hunt and Roskill under the superintendence of Mr Baily, the Royal Academician. Date: 1845
