Two performers from dance troupe Hot Gossip - famous for their risque routines
Two performers from dance troupe Hot Gossip - famous for their risque routines on the Kenny Everett Show - visited Gateshead in 1984 for a shape-up dance class.
Floid Pearce, 25, and Donette
Goddard, 19, limbered up and worked out with women of all ages at their first appearance in the area.
And Floid challenged the men of Gateshead to get involved and start working out.
" They could come along and get rid of their beer guts, " he said.
" Its very good exercise and we
include the erotic dance routines
because people expect them."
Hot Gossip were formed by former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips in 1974 and had a top ten hit with I Lost My Heart To A Starship Trooper.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photo print, taken in 1984, two performers from the renowned dance troupe Hot Gossip are captured during their visit to Gateshead. Floid Pearce, aged 25, and Donette Goddard, aged 19, are seen limbering up and working out with women of all ages at a shape-up dance class. This marked their first appearance in the area and they wasted no time in encouraging the men of Gateshead to join them in their fitness journey. Floid boldly challenged the men to shed their beer guts by participating in these invigorating exercise sessions. He emphasized that not only is it an excellent form of physical activity but also includes the signature erotic dance routines that Hot Gossip is famous for. According to him, people expect nothing less from them. Hot Gossip was formed by Arlene Phillips, who later became a judge on Strictly Come Dancing, back in 1974. The group gained popularity with their risqué performances on the Kenny Everett Show and even had a top ten hit with "I Lost My Heart To A Starship Trooper". This nostalgic image captures a moment when fitness met entertainment as Hot Gossip brought their unique blend of exercise and provocative choreography to Gateshead. It serves as a reminder of an era when dance troupes like Hot Gossip pushed boundaries and captivated audiences with their daring routines.
