The image depicts Sputnik 1, humanity's first artificial satellite, floating gracefully in space. Translated as "pioneer of the cosmic era" this postcard symbolizes a monumental achievement in human history. Launched on October 4th, 1957, Sputnik 1 was an extraordinary feat of engineering and innovation. Constructed from a highly polished aluminium alloy sphere measuring 58 centimeters in diameter and weighing 83.5 kilos, it boasted four long antennas attached to its body.
