EDITORS COMMENTS
Talk about a fish out of water! This Ocean Sunfish (Mola mola) decided to take a detour from its deep-sea adventures and ended up washed ashore on the beautiful beach of Eccles-on-sea, Norfolk, England. It seems like this curious creature wanted to explore the sandy shores just as much as we do! But don't worry, folks, it's not all doom and gloom. Even though this adult sunfish met an unfortunate end, it still managed to make quite the splash in the world of marine wildlife photography. FLPA photographer Neil Bowman captured this rare sight for us all to marvel at. Who knew that even in death, these majestic creatures could leave such an impression? With its enormous size and unique appearance resembling a floating pancake with fins, it's no wonder why people are flocking to see this unusual spectacle. As winter sets in along the British coastlines, let's take a moment to appreciate nature's wonders – even when they're lifeless. So next time you stumble upon something unexpected during your beach stroll, remember that there might be more than meets the eye. Rest peacefully now, dear sunfish. Your journey may have come to an end on land, but your memory will forever swim through our imaginations.
