Created by J Rogers, this engraving beautifully captures the essence of General Bragg's commanding presence. Bragg served as the commander of the Army of Tennessee in the western theater from 1862 to 1867. Known for his strategic prowess, he achieved a significant victory at the Battle of Chickamauga in September 1863. However, his fortunes took a turn when he faced defeat at Chattanooga just two months later. As a result, he was relieved of his field command and reassigned as a military advisor to Confederate President Jefferson Davis. The artist skillfully portrays General Bragg in his military uniform, exuding strength and determination.
