Bathing pool on Selfridges rooftop
A new Sportapool, a portable swimming bath which could be fitted up at short notice in almost any convenient place. Here it is installed on the roof of Selfridges department store on Oxford Street, London. It claims to have a good depth for diving but I m not convinced! Good name though - full marks to whoever thought that one up. Date: 1931

The image features a portable swimming pool, known as a Sportapool, installed on the rooftop of the iconic Selfridges department store located on Oxford Street. The temporary pool was a novelty that could be set up quickly in any convenient location.
