This striking photograph captures Sir William Henry Mackinnon (1852-1931), a prominent Scottish businessman and military figure, during the Victoria Cross and Distinguished Conduct Medal Review at Valhalla, Wimbledon in 1901. Mackinnon, who was knighted in 1901 for his services to the British Empire, is seen here wearing his military uniform with pride.
