This handcoloured lithograph, created by R.V. after an illustration by Francois Courboin from Octave Uzanne's Fashion in Paris, published in 1898, transports us back to the fashionable and cultured society of Paris in the early 19th century. The image depicts a woman in elegant attire, her bonnet adorned with a delicate feather, gazing out of a window overlooking the Panoramas of Boulevard Montmartre. The Panoramas were a popular attraction in Paris at the time, offering cityscapes of Boulogne and Constantinople, as well as battle scenes.
