This evocative 18th century print depicts a trio of individuals from the Tartar community of Kohonor, China. The central figures are a man and a woman, both dressed in traditional Eastern garments with intricate patterns and vibrant colors. Their expressions suggest a deep connection and mutual respect. Flanking them on either side are two figures of great importance to the Tartar community: a Lama or priest. The Lama on the left is dressed in the distinctive robes of a Tibetan Buddhist monk, with a shaved head and a long, flowing beard.
