VISUAL DESCRIPTION
This is a vintage illustration from the cover of "La Vie Parisienne, " dated Saturday, 15 October 1927. The artwork depicts a romantic scene set in an idyllic countryside. A woman dressed in traditional peasant attire, complete with a white headscarf and apron over her dress, stands close to a man who appears to be a soldier or officer; he's wearing a uniform with knee-high boots, gloves, and carries what seems to be a cape or cloak draped over his arm. His other hand rests on the woman's waist as they share an intimate moment. The couple is surrounded by elements of rural life: there are rabbits at their feet and a rooster nearby, suggesting they might be near farmland or within pastoral settings. A large clay pot sits beside them which could be used for carrying water or storing food items like grain. Autumn leaves suggest the season and add color contrast to the image. The text at the top reads "LA VIE PARISIENNE" indicating that this is likely one of many illustrations that graced the magazine known for its light-hearted portrayal of French high society and often risqué content during its publication years. Below it states "65^e Année - N° 42" marking it as part of its 65th year running and issue number 42 respectively; while "Le Numéro: fr. 2. -50" indicates the price for this particular issue. At bottom left corner under rabbits we can see signature 'G' probably referring to artist who created this work.
