EDITORS COMMENTS
In this iconic photograph taken on April 1,2006, at Arsenal Football Club's historic Highbury Stadium in London, Mathieu Flamini of the Gunners celebrates with teammates after scoring one of Arsenal's five goals against Aston Villa in the FA Premiership. The French midfielder, who joined Arsenal in 2004, netted the third goal of the match in a dominant performance by Arsene Wenger's team. Flamini's goal came in the 63rd minute, following a corner kick that was flicked on by Thierry Henry and met by a powerful header from the midfielder, leaving Villa goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen with no chance. The crowd went wild as Flamini ran towards the corner flag, pumping his fists in the air before being engulfed by his teammates. The victory against Villa kept Arsenal's title challenge alive, as they closed the gap on leaders Chelsea to just two points. The team went on to win the FA Premiership that season, with Flamini playing a crucial role in their midfield. In the photograph, Flamini is seen surrounded by his teammates, including Robert Pires, Ashley Cole, and Cesc Fabregas, all of whom are celebrating the goal. Gavin McCann of Aston Villa looks on dejectedly in the background, as Arsenal's dominance on the day was evident. This photograph is a reminder of a memorable moment in Arsenal's history, with Flamini's goal playing a significant role in their title-winning campaign. The image captures the excitement and passion of football, as well as the camaraderie and team spirit that exists between players on the pitch.
