The illustration was originally featured in The Illustrated London News on November 7,1896. In this bustling scene, we are introduced to a diverse array of canine companions and their proud owners. From the regal Pekin Prince R, a majestic Pekinese Spaniel, to the elegant Mare Antony, an Old English Sheepdog with its distinctive wire hair coat.
