Chas. Edward (The Pretender) And Flora Macdonald, (mid 19th century). Flora MacDonald (1722-1790) helped the Jacobite pretender Charles Edward Stuart ( Bonnie Prince Charlie, 1720-1788) to escape after his defeat by the English at the Battle of Culloden (1745) in the Highlands of Scotland.
