This handcolored copperplate engraving, taken from Friedrich Bertuch's Bilderbuch fur Kinder (Picture Book for Children), published in Weimar in 1798, showcases an enchanting assembly of seven distinct bird species: the Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs), Brambling (F. montifringilla), White-winged Snowfinch (Montifringilla nivalis), House Sparrow (F. domestica), Tree Sparrow (Passer montanus), and Rock Sparrow (Petronia petronia).
