The Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII, then Duke of Windsor) pictured at Finse on the Bergen Railway in Norway, where he was on skis for eight hours a day, becoming an expert ski-runner and out-doing his companions in endurance, according to a report in The Sketch. The prince was on a visit to his aunt, Queen Maud of Norway (and King Haakon). The lower photograph shows him with a party ready to start for the Hardangerjokel under the guidance of Mr Andreas Klen who was followed by his tame reindeer.
