The Humpback Whale is a beloved marine mammal and a popular sight for visitors to Frederick Sound. With its distinctive hump, long pectoral fins, and massive caudal fin, this majestic creature is a true marvel of the ocean. The Humpback Whale is a baleen whale, filtering water through its baleen plates to feed on krill and small fish. This image captures the whale in the midst of a dive, its massive tail flukes lifting clear of the water before disappearing beneath the surface.
