The Battle of Tippecanoe, fought on November 7, 1811, was a significant military engagement in the Northwest Indian War between the United States and a confederation of Native American tribes led by the Shawnee prophet Tecumseh and his brother Tenskwatawa, also known as the Prophet. The battle took place near the Tippecanoe River in present-day Indiana and marked a turning point in the war, as the American forces, led by Governor William Henry Harrison, emerged victorious.
