Amidst the joy and relief of a French soldier's homecoming from the front lines of World War I in 1916, an unexpected and unwelcome surprise awaited his family. The soldier, weary from battle and covered in the dust and grime of the trenches, carried with him unseen passengers - an infestation of fleas. As the soldier embraced his wife and children, the tiny pests scampered from his uniform, beginning their rampage throughout the household. The family's beloved pet parrot and dogs soon became victims of the flea menace, adding to the chaos and discomfort. The itching and scratching that followed were a constant reminder of the soldier's recent departure. The once peaceful home was now overrun with the itchy intruders, leaving the family to endure sleepless nights and days filled with relentless irritation.
