Hatteria punctata, also known as the Great Fringed Lizard or the Punctuated Fringed Lizard, is an intriguing reptile endemic to New Zealand. Belonging to the Rhynchocephalia order, Hatteria punctata is a member of the Sphenodontidae family, which also includes the tuatara.
