EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative photograph captures the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck the Koppeh Dargh region in Iran on 1st May 1929. The earthquake, one of the deadliest natural disasters in Iranian history, measured 7.3 on the Richter scale and left thousands of people homeless and in dire need of assistance. In the image, a van from Albus Company, a British transport firm, is seen delivering much-needed food supplies to the refugees. The van, filled to the brim with sacks of grain and other essential provisions, is being unloaded by a group of men, who will distribute the aid to the affected communities. The image is a poignant reminder of the human spirit and the compassionate response of people and organizations during times of crisis. The van, with its 'Albus' logo prominently displayed, serves as a symbol of hope and relief for the earthquake survivors. The photograph, taken in the aftermath of the disaster, is a testament to the resilience and fortitude of the affected communities and the generosity of those who came forward to help.
