The illustration features six distinct species: the Lucia widow dragonfly (Palpopleura lucia), the Rubyspot damselfly (Hetaerina caja), the Picture wing (Rhyothemis variegata), the Slough Amberwing (Perithemis domitia), and the Smoky Rubyspot damselfly (Hetaerina titia). The Lucia widow dragonfly, with its vibrant green body and striking black wings, is depicted in the upper left corner.
