Measuring just two feet in length, this sloth is a diminutive variation of the more commonly known Three-toed Sloth, Bradypus tridactylus. The Pygmy Three-toed Sloth is native to the forests of Central America, specifically Panama and Costa Rica. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, this species is currently classified as critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
