The Bedford bus, a familiar sight for anyone who served in the RAF during the 1970s and 1980s, was notorious for its uncomfortable ride and cramped quarters. Despite these challenges, the apprentices used the bus as transportation to and from the rugged Dartmoor terrain in Devon, where they competed in the annual Ten Tors cross-country team march.
