Lepton Middle School's Final Act - Gangsters Take the Stage in Bugsy Malone
EDITORS COMMENTS
. In a bittersweet farewell, Lepton Middle School is preparing to close its doors forever. But before bidding adieu, the school's talented pupils are giving it their all in their last production - the beloved musical Bugsy Malone. With only a few weeks left until closure, seventy of the school's 230 students have come together to sing, act, and dance in this grand finale. The photo captures Claire Horsfall and Tom Stephenson at the forefront of an enthusiastic cast. These young performers are just a glimpse of the dozens more who have been tirelessly working behind the scenes to make this show a success. Excitement fills the air as parents and friends eagerly await opening night alongside Kirklees director of education Mr Trevor Hiles and principal education officer Mr Ian MacMillan. The support from these esteemed guests reflects not only their appreciation for Lepton Middle School but also their recognition of its impact on shaping young minds. Producer Ms Gill Goodswen commends her dedicated students for rehearsing during lunch breaks rather than missing valuable lessons. Their commitment showcases not only their passion for drama but also their determination to give Lepton Middle School a memorable send-off. As we look back on this snapshot from July 3rd, 1990, we celebrate these children who embraced amateur dramatics with open hearts. They remind us that even amidst change and uncertainty, creativity thrives within our educational institutions
