Dunkleosteus sp. fish in the sea in the Devonian period (408-360 million years ago), computer artwork. This large predatory fish had jaws but not true teeth, instead having plates of sharp bone. It is thought that Dunkleosteus sp. fish fed on other fish, sharks and other marine life. It was a placoderm fish, and had a heavily-armoured head and a scaleless body.
