Nestled amidst the verdant hills of the Cotswolds, Cheltenham Racecourse has been a popular destination for horse racing enthusiasts since the 18th century. The station, built specifically to serve the racecourse, was a temporary terminus, only open on race days. The photograph showcases the station's rustic charm, with its quaint wooden signage and the steam engine puffing away in the background. The platform, adorned with wooden benches, is bustling with activity as passengers disembark, their faces etched with excitement and anticipation. The Gold Cup, one of the most prestigious races in the National Hunt racing calendar, has been held at Cheltenham Racecourse since 1819.
