The operating staff also wore period dress. Fares were 1 shilling First Class and 6 old pence Third Class

The star of the show is undoubtedly the iconic locomotive "Lion" which gained fame in the 1950s comedy "The Titfield Thunderbolt". As part of these momentous railway centenary celebrations, a replica train was pulled by Lion on a circular track at Wavertree Playground in Liverpool.
