RNLI lookout

This is an image of a member of the Scarborough RNLI team who is looking out from the boathouse to the sea where the rest of his crew were training.
Due to the harsh conditions on the day most of the team were out training, to make the most of the conditions in which they often have to work to save the lives of hundreds of lives each year! 30% of the profit from this product will be paid in support of the RNLI. HER LAST SUMMER AND BLESSING ( DON'T TAKE THE HEROES ) Featured RNLI Print

HER LAST SUMMER AND BLESSING ( DON'T TAKE THE HEROES )

HER LAST SUMMER AND BLESSING ( DON'T TAKE THE HEROES ). Drawing by Nick Langdon. Derived from a photo taken sometime in August 1981, it depicts the Penlee lifeboat Solomon Browne in her native Mousehole Harbour during the annual blessing of the Lifeboat, which proved to be her last summer and blessing as some four months later she was lost with all hands when rescuing the crew of the Union Star, who all also perished. It also depicts the Lifeboat as being a very central part of the community, with locals gathering in the harbour to behold its annual blessing, as well as of course depicting happier times for all concerned
