World Wide Wonders exhibition, Royal Cornwall Museum, River Street, Truro, Cornwall. 4th March 2018

A view of the Wonder Wall of the World Wide Wonders exhibition in the Treffry Gallery. The exhibition opened on 5th February 2018 and ran until January 2019 as part of the Royal Institution of Cornwalls bicentenary celebrations in 2018. Since its inception in 1818, one of the aims of the Institution was to collect objects from around the world. This has resulted in a fascinating and diverse collection that has opened windows onto the world, both for us and for those who have come before us. The exhibition included the bones of a giant Moa (an extinct bird from New Zealand), minerals from Cousin Jacks, fertility masks from Africa and wedding garments from Albania.
