Oil pipeline and tanker. This structure is designed for loading oil onto tankers directly from an oil pipeline. This harbour is Primorsk, on Russias Baltic Sea coast, and the pipeline is the Baltic Pipeline System, which carries oil from the oilfields of northern Russia, Western Siberia and the Urals region, to Primorsk Oil Terminal. The pipeline construction was completed in 2001, and in April 2006 it reached its maximum capability of 1.3 million barrels of oil a day. Photographed on 7 April 2006
