Easter holiday crowds thronged the Brooklands track, Surrey, in their thousands to watch the racing in the opening meeting of the year on the track, Easter Monday. Sir Malcolm Campbell with his Bluebird in which he established the world record, Kaye Don in his Tiger II, and Sir Henry Birkin were among the attractions.
The crowd in the gallery watching the cars lined up for the first race, won by L P Driscoll in Captain Waites Austin, at an average speed of 95.97 miles an hour.
