Fractal geometry : Mandelbrot set
Fractal geometry: computer graphics representation of the Mandelbrot Set, plotted from complex number coordinates. A number is described as complex when it is made up of two parts, historically called real and imaginary - imaginary numbers are derived from the square root of -1. The Mandelbrot set, named after Benoit B. Mandelbrot, is a form of fractal geometry, the mathematical study of forms having a fractional dimension. Fractal patterns demonstrate order and presence of pattern in apparently highly irregular systems. For example, fractals have been applied to model coastlines

Slavers Raiding a Village on the Aruwimi River, Central Afri
Engraving showing Arab slavers raiding a village beside the Aruwimi River, as seen from the Yambuya Camp occupied by Sir Henry Morton Stanley's Emin Pasha Relief Expedition, 1888. Emin Pasha (1840-1892), the German doctor, explorer, linguist and Governor of the Egyptian Equatorial Province had retreated to Wadelai, near Lake Albert, with 10, 000 followers during the Mahdi Rising. Cut off from all communication Emin Pasha was considered lost, so the British government sent out a rescue party led by H.M. Stanley (1841-1904). Date: 1890

Athens Olympics - Fencing
Fencing - 2004 Athens Olympics - Men's Epee Individual, Final Pool Bronze-Medal Match
Pavel Kolobkov (Russia) vs. Eric Boisse (France)
Kolobkov (#210) on the way to winning the bronze medal, at the Olympic Fencing Hall, Helleniko Olympic Complex.
Kolobkov was appointed Russian Minister of Sport in October 2016. His predecessor Vitaly Mutko had been implicated in the state-sponsored doping detailed in the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) Independent Commission. Kolobkov himself, as Deputy Sports Minister, had been barred from Wada's Foundation Board due to Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) being declared non-compliant with the WADA code.
