In this photo print, we are transported back to the 1938/1939 football season, where two legendary figures of Bury Football Club stand side by side. On the left, we have John "Jack". Watson, a formidable force on the field known for his skill and determination. And on the right stands J. Wyllie, another talented player who contributed greatly to Bury's success during that era. But their story doesn't end there. Fast forward to 1948 when Watson embarked on an extraordinary journey across borders as he joined Real Madrid alongside Mike Keeping as a player/coach. It was in 1949 that he etched his name in history books by becoming not only the first British player but also the sole Scotland representative to don the famous white jersey of Real Madrid's first team during a match against Celta Vigo.
