It could carry more passengers and fly farther than any other commercial aircraft of its time, making it a game-changer in the aviation industry. With a cruising speed of 185 miles per hour and a range of over 1,000 miles, it set new standards for air travel and paved the way for the development of larger and more advanced aircraft. The Boeing 247D made its first flight on December 28, 1933, and entered commercial service in 1934. It remained in production until 1942, with a total of 135 units built.
