The Purple-naped Lory, also known as the Blue-naped Lory or the Blue-naped Parrot, is a lorikeet native to New Guinea and the surrounding islands. The bird in this illustration is shown perched gracefully on a branch, its brilliant blue and green plumage a stark contrast against the brown bark of the tree.
