This handcoloured lithograph showcases the renowned tenor Marius-Pierre Audran in the role of Scipion from the opera "La Sirene" (The Siren) by Daniel Auber and Eugene Scribe. Performed at the Theatre Royal de l'Opéra Comique in Paris in 1844, Audran's portrayal of Scipion left a lasting impression on audiences. The image, taken from the Galerie Dramatique: Costumes des Théâtres de Paris, was created by the skilled illustrator Victor Dollet under the direction of Louis Lasalle.
