This stunning relief depicts a regal figure believed to be the great Pharaoh Ramesses II of the New Kingdom in Egypt, dated around 1279-1213 BC. The relief, carved from granite, was discovered in Memphis, the ancient capital city of Egypt. Ramesses II is shown in profile, with a short, carefully groomed beard, a sign of his royal status. His face is serene and strong, with a slight furrow between his brows, giving an air of wisdom and authority.
