EDITORS COMMENTS
Captured in this vintage print is a remarkable moment from the London Motor Show on October 18th, 1966. Standing proudly beside a stunning soft top Ford Cortina Mark 2, two glamorous models steal the spotlight. Contrary to popular belief, this convertible beauty is indeed a Ford Cortina Mk2 and not a Consul as previously described. The credit for this exquisite soft top conversion goes to Crayford, an esteemed engineering company based in Kent. Making their debut appearance at the London Motor Show that year with stand number 173, Crayford showcased their exceptional craftsmanship and innovation. Let's meet the stars of this scene! The first model is Sally Stokes, dressed in an eye-catching check outfit. Not only was she a renowned London model but also held the title of being Jim Clark's long-term girlfriend—a connection that adds another layer of intrigue to this photograph. The second model gracing us with her presence is Anita Taylor—an immensely popular British motor racing driver during the vibrant era of the 1960s. Her presence exudes confidence and elegance, perfectly complementing the allure of both the car and its surroundings. This snapshot transports us back in time—immersing us into an era where cars were more than just vehicles; they were symbols of style and sophistication. A true gem from Memory Lane Prints.
