Federation of Great Britain from 1924 until 1931, a period that included the 1926 General Strike. The 1926 general strike lasted 9 days, from 4 May 1926 to 13 May 1926. It was called by the Trades Union Congress in an unsuccessful attempt to force the British government to act to prevent wage reduction and declining working conditions.
