Taken in 1908 but printed in 1956, it showcases a man who revolutionized the world of flight alongside his brother Orville. The Wright brothers began their journey as bicycle designers and builders before shifting their focus to the skies. It was on December 17th, 1903 that Orville piloted this groundbreaking invention in history's inaugural powered and controlled aircraft flight. The Flyer III, built in 1905, marked another milestone as it became the first efficient plane. Its success led to an order from the American army for a military version by 1909. Wilbur Wright's contributions to aviation technology were truly remarkable. This portrait showcases Wilbur with his signature headgear - a cap that symbolizes his dedication and passion for flying. His handwritten signature adds a personal touch to this historic image.
