There were two Ernest Emmersons listed on Soldiers Died in the Great War, both of whom made significant contributions to the conflict. The first Ernest Emmerson was Lance Corporal 1247 in the York and Lancaster Regiment, 12th (Service) (Sheffield) Battalion.
