Gertie Millar (1879-1952), popular music hall and stage actress, pictured, " suited at all points like a man, " in other words, wearing a cool and comfortable silk pyjama suit in which to play tennis. At the time of the photograph, Gerties was coming to the end of the run of the popular " Bric-a-Brac" at the Palace theatre and was next to be engaged in a Charles Cochran production at the new St. Martins Theatre in September 1916.
