Isberga was the sister of the renowned Emperor Charlemagne, who ruled the Frankish Empire from 768 to 814 AD. According to one popular tale, Isberga was once approached by a group of fishermen who had caught an unusually large eel in their nets. Unable to pull it in, they sought the saint's help.
