A Huddersfield swimming club is more than 50 years old has closed with its leaders retirement. Mrs Hazel Kaye, of Almondbury, has run Huddersfield Bath Club since 1958 after becoming involved 3 years before. The club, which met at Cambridge Road Baths, was for youngsters aged between three and 18. Mrs Kaye is pictured with a china plate featuring Cambridge Road Baths. It was presented to her by helpers at the voluntary club. SHe was also given a cut glass rosebowl by the children. With her are Maud Lonsbrough (centre left) - the mother of Olympic swimming gold medalist Anita Lonsbrough - who led the club for eight years when Mrs Kaye had a break after having two children and instructress Patricia Heywood (centre right). 27th March 1991
