It is not known what is in the letters.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photo print, we witness a historic encounter between Queen Elizabeth II and Piers Corbyn. Taken on November 27th, 1969, during the royal couple's visit to Imperial College of Science and Technology in London, the image captures a significant moment in both political and academic spheres. At just 22 years old, Piers Corbyn stands proudly beside the Queen as President of the Students Union. Interestingly, this was not their first meeting. On a prior occasion, Piers had attempted to present three letters to Her Majesty but was advised by the Duke of Edinburgh to handle his own posting. Determined and undeterred, he successfully handed over these mysterious letters during their official encounter captured here. The significance of these letters remains unknown; however, they undoubtedly held great importance for Piers Corbyn at that time. It is intriguing to ponder what thoughts or messages were contained within those envelopes. Notably, Piers Corbyn is also recognized as being the brother of Jeremy Corbyn who would later become leader of the Labour Party in 2015. This connection adds an additional layer of intrigue and curiosity surrounding this photograph. Preserved by Memory Lane Prints under King's ownership rights (not affiliated with any company), this snapshot immortalizes a unique moment when youth met royalty against an academic backdrop—a testament to history unfolding before our eyes.
