EDITORS COMMENTS
Whitemarsh Hall, formerly known as Ned Hall, is a historic mansion located in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, and was the residence of Edward Townsend Stotesbury from 1922 or 1923. Designed by the renowned architect Horace Trumbauer and completed in 1922, the Tudor Revival-style house is a testament to the opulence and grandeur of the Gilded Age. The exterior features arched doorways, columns, and intricate stonework, while the terrace landscape was designed by Jacques-Auguste-Henri Greber. The interior of the house is equally impressive, with ornate detailing, elegant interior design, and exquisite interior decoration. The arched niche in the image showcases a sculpture, adding to the artistic beauty of the home. The photograph, taken by Frances Benjamin Johnston in the 1920s, captures the essence of the house's grandeur and historical significance. The house, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, is a reminder of the rich architectural heritage of Pennsylvania and the United States.
