African Cuckoo Jigsaw Puzzle Collection

The African Cuckoo is a species of cuckoo found in sub-Saharan Africa, and is a medium-sized bird, with males measuring up to 40 cm in length and females up to 38 cm. The plumage of the African Cuckoo varies from greyish brown to black, with white markings on the wings and tail and has a distinctive call that can be heard over long distances, consisting of a series of loud 'cuk-cuk' notes. The African Cuckoo feeds mainly on insects, but will also eat small reptiles and amphibians when available. Its breeding season usually begins in late spring or early summer, when it builds its nest in trees or shrubs close to water sources such as rivers or streams. After laying its eggs, the female leaves them for the male to incubate until they hatch after about two weeks. The chicks are then fed by both parents until they are ready to leave the nest after another two weeks or so.
