In this delightful print, we find ourselves in the vicinity of a picturesque links, where a group of golfers are engaged in an eventful game. The scene unfolds with a mournful farewell as Uncle Peach bids adieu to his niece Daisy, who is about to embark on her homeward journey. As they cross paths near the macadam waves, Daisy's uncle assists her while returning from their lunch at the clubhouse. Meanwhile, our attention is drawn to two driven rivals playing on the high road. They meet just before crossing a pond that precedes several challenging bunkers. The master golfer Macadam seems unhappy with his performance while Captain Peach maintains his composure. In another part of the meadow, Miss Whiffles engages in pleasant conversation with Peter and Phyllis. Invited by Mr Macadam himself, they have launched into an attraction-filled opportunity to showcase their skills on the links. Amidst all these points of sportsmanship and romance lies an underlying sadness felt by one woman depicted in this engraving.
