The Rufous Hummingbird, also known as the Rufous-necked Hummingbird or the Nootka Hummingbird, is depicted on the left. Males of this species are characterized by their vibrant rufous (reddish-brown) necks, which contrast sharply with their emerald green backs and iridescent throats. They are native to North America, ranging from Alaska to Panama, and are known for their long-distance migration. On the right, the Black-throated Mango Hummingbird is depicted.
